Best Coffee Shop in Japan? % Arabica Coffee Shop in Kyoto

Watch Now:

This short video is about a beautiful coffee shop called % Arabica in Kyoto Japan near Yasaka Shrine! The coffee was so good and location was so incredible, that we were inspired to do a short  "commercial-like" video for it! We wanted to convey the awesome vibe and warmth that we felt over there as we waited for quite possibly the best perfect cup of coffee we've ever had.

The owner of Arabica, Kenneth Shoji, has won many awards within coffee industry and is considered a world class Coffee Connoisseur; Because of that, % Arabica  is considered one of the best Coffee Shop in the world. Check out Kenneth's Philosophy written in % Arabica's website (www.arabica.coffee), He talks about his history and how % Arabica came to fruition because of it. Really interesting read!

If you are ever in Japan and end up in Kyoto, you have to visit Arabica % and get a nice cup of coffee as you explore the world famous Higashiyama District nearby.

Traveling To Tokyo Japan

Watch Now:

Michelle and I had an opportunity to stay in Japan for 2 weeks.

In this video we spent time in SFO where we were able to film some footage for our Intro Video, our interviews, and B roll. In the process we almost missed our flight but Michelle had something up her sleeve to save day. Then after 10 hours of no sleep/travel/flying we got to tokyo, only to spend another 2 hours of train ride to go to our Capsule Hotel near Tsukiji Market. Once we checked in, we ran and got some real food!

Join us as we travel from SFO to Tokyo!

San Francisco Street Food Festival

Watch Now:

Michelle and I decided to check out the 7th Annual San Francisco Street Food Festival located at Pier 70, industrial side of San Francisco.  We didn’t know what to expect other than having a fat belly at the end of the day…

Here’s an excerpt from their website:

The San Francisco Street Food Festival features the participant businesses of La Cocina, a groundbreaking food business incubator that has been serving the Bay Area since 2005. In collaboration with Noise Pop and The Midway, this year’s festival will also feature a rotating selection of the minds, hands and palates of the people that make San Francisco the best food city in this country, if not the world. These are the cooks and entrepreneurs, the dreamers and the doers, who put their taste to the test everyday and aspire to share something sincere with everyone they meet. They are who make us smile, they are the ones who make us hunger for more, and they are the ones who inspire us.

This event was an eye opening experience as it really showed us that San Francisco is a REAL Foodie Destination!

Travel Podcast Extra Content: Lake Como Italy

Watch Now:

This was a quick video we did while we were in Lake Como Italy early 2015. We didn't really shoot a lot of footage because we only stayed there for 3 hours. We didn't want to shoot the whole time and miss the experience! The footage that we did get was "ok"... Ideally we would shoot things at least 6 times but unfortunately for the sake of the video, and fortunately for our experience, everything we did was all in one take.

One thing is for sure though... Its beautiful over there and it was worth it!!!!

Travel Podcast Extra Content: Rendezvous in Hong Kong

Watch Now:

Michelle and I met up our friends from Guadalajara Mexico (Pepe, Alondra, Vicky and Christian) to check out the beautiful city of Hong Kong! We Shot this video for 2 days last in 2014!  We had so much fun going around Hong Kong! On the first day we (Pepe, Alondra, Michelle and I) bought 4 tickets for "the Big Bus Tour" which took us to all the cool places in Hong Kong! The cool part about the Big Bus Tour was that you can hop on and hop off the bus and spend as much time as you want in each location! The Next day we checked out the "Big Buddha" which took a few hours overall. On the way over there, we got to go on a Tram with a glass floor which was crazy! Michelle at one point started freaking out (seen in the video mark 3:00). Later on that day, we met up with our other friends Vicky and Christian where we had dinner in Bubba Gump at the top of Victoria Peak! Music by the Jet "Are you Gonna Be My Girl!"

Travel Podcast Extra Content: Takaragawa Onsen Japan

Watch Now:

This quick video was shot last year 2014 on our trip to Tokyo Japan. Michelle and I decided to check out a traditional Onsen/Ryokan in Tokyo but we stumbled on Takaragawa Onsen in the town of Minikami Town in Japan. Words cannot describe of the beauty of this Onsen, and unfortunately we only stayed there for 1 day...

An onsen (温泉?) is a term for hot springs in the Japanese language, though the term is often used to describe the bathing facilities and inns around the hot springs. As a volcanically active country, Japan has thousands of onsen scattered along its length and breadth. Onsen were traditionally used as public bathing places and today play a central role in directing Japanese domestic tourism.

Onsen come in many types and shapes, including outdoor (露天風呂 or 野天風呂 roten-buro or noten-buro?) and indoor baths. Baths may be either public run by a municipality or private (内湯 uchiyu?) often run as part of a hotel, ryokan or bed and breakfast (民宿 minshuku?).
